Blah blah blah optimised.
Hey all, Ryan from Canada here. I'm the solo creator behind ry650, welcome to my site.
So, what am I doing here? Well, I basically blend conceptual typographic art and incorporate it into equations. It's a mash-up of my creator life, and actual math.
Well, now that I'm approaching my 50s (I can't believe I just said that), I need to seriously brush up on my math skills. No seriously, I need to get back to basics.
To twist my brain a bit.
To keep the mind sharp, check out the basic math generator.
Okay, let me paint a better picture of why I need to work on my math, specifically, the mental math part. Hypothetically, I'm shopping online for a new video camera.
Option 1 shows one camera for $300, but it's 20% off. The next option shows a similar camera for $300, but it's $20 off.
Great, at this point I would be running around my house looking for the calculator, because the calculator always disappears when I need it. Forget it, I'll just use my phone's calculator. Oh, the phone is downstairs. (Random speaking voice): "Huh, aren't you using your cell phone when shopping online?" Good question, Random. No, I'm using my desktop computer. Be right back.
Boom, my foot hits the side of the chair. Now I have my cell phone and my desktop, and my foot feels like it's in two places. Oh look, there's the calculator! Hobble, hobble, hobble, back to the desktop. Now I have my cell phone, desktop, and calculator. It's a math party, but nobody is dancing because my foot fell off five minutes ago.
Now I have my cell phone, but I just realized I left my glasses on top of the table over there. I put the cell phone down, hobble a bit more to "over there," and grab my glasses. And why stop the drama there? I look at my phone and need to plug it in... Where's the charging cord? My head looks left, then right. Found it. I plug in the phone. Now I have my desktop, calculator, cell phone, a sore foot, glasses, and a charger.
Oh, how mental math would have solved this math mess in 10 seconds. You see, if I were able to do the mental math in my head, for example, being able to figure out what 20% of $300 is, then I wouldn't have to rely on the calculator so much. But sometimes it's not the calculator; it's running around looking for the calculator.
It's not my phone's calculator; it's opening up my phone to the Narnia of WTF that tends to happen when I open the thing, like scrolling through apps to find the calculator, a random "low battery" notification, or the voice message icon is on. What! Somebody called and left a message! Were they using a vintage rotary dial phone? Actually, I would love one of those.
Finally, it's not the desktop computer; it's opening the computer, signing in, opening a tab, then typing "calculator" in the tab, then hitting enter, then the Google calculator pops up, then using my mousepad to type the numbers, and so on, and so on.
Ok, you get the point, to summarize this all up, in my world math is everywhere, and keeping the math brain sharp is what I need to work on.
Ryan is sitting on a metal chair with a cold, dark table in front of him. Suddenly, a big white light turns on, blinding Ryan a bit. From the right, a taller, older man walks in with a big gold medal on the side of his chest that says, "Mad FAQs." The man speaks.
Doom Doom Doooooooooooooom
Who are you...really? Speak up!
hi, i'm ryan, I mean, HI, MY NAME IS RYAN FROM CANADA. I'M WORKING ON MY MATH SKILLS.
Are you AI? What's in the box!
No, I'm a real person just learning math... I don't see a box anywhere, but AI is an interesting thing. Who knows what the future may bring?
Who is typing right now?? Are you a bot!
Hi... um, no, it's still me, just Ryan... I eat food and breathe, and I might do some laundry after this... or math (gulp).
Why do you want to learn math again!
Well, I'm in the good old creator economy. I've got my YouTube channel and Amazon thing going right now. In the back end though, I have to track my finances, like all the earnings, on a spreadsheet. I also have to do all the tax stuff and accounting; in other words, math is everywhere. Yes, I do know all the math is done for me in the software, but having a good "math eye" is a very good asset.
What are these math tools on your site? Are you a bot!
Um, No, I think I answered that question already. I made some math tools on Google Gemini AI to help me out with the math. I'm no computer whiz though, just saying. Oh look a random laptop, you can check out this one... sir. Shopping Discount Game.
What is 2 + 2 = Quick!
Um, 4.
What are these math arts!
Hi Mad FAQs, I think it's called math art, not math arts, but that's ok. (Shoe flies across the room, awkward pause... more awkward pause), it's a blend of conceptual typographic art and equations. Nothing too rowdy though. Take a look at the one. Email multiplier effect

The Lowdown on Site Data
Since I'm a solo creator and I built this site using Google Sites, I rely on a couple of Google tools to keep things running smoothly and see what "Life Math" concepts are hitting home:
Google Analytics (GA): This is how I figure out what's working. GA uses tiny files called cookies to gather basic, anonymous info—things like which pages you stop on and how long you stick around. This helps me improve the content. Don't worry, I don't collect any personal details like your name or email.
Google Search Console (GSC): Think of this as my site's health monitor. I use it to check that the site is technically sound and showing up correctly when people search for stuff. It's just a maintenance tool for me.
By hanging out on this site, you're cool with this minimal, anonymous tracking. To see how Google handles this data on its end, you can check out their policy here
Oh, about the math art: My math art is meant for grown-ups, not kids. Think: small business math, math rants, life math, etc.
